Jesus Died For The Whole World

John Calvin's "Limited Atonement" theory says Jesus only died for the elect, that is, for those who have been chosen to be saved. But the Bible teaches to the contrary, that Jesus died for the whole world.I John 2:2 reads, And he (Jesus) is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.Notice some other passages written by the apostle John:I John 4:14 ... the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.John 3:17 ... God sent ... his Son ... that the world ... might be saved.John 4:42 ... this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world.John 6:51 ... and the bread that I (Jesus) will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.John 12:47 ... for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.I don't know of a single verse in all of the Bible that uses the word "world" to refer to the saved/elect only. Do you?If the atonement is limited, someone forgot to tell the apostle John !
