Why Faithful Christians Don't Go To The Movie Theatre

Faithful Christians don't go to the Movie Theatre because of passages like II John 9-11. We should hate sin (Prov 6:16-19) so much that we don’t want to help someone sin or encourage them to sin.We can illustrate by pointing out that it isn’t necessarily a sin to pay someone to paint your house just because they say a few cuss words (without your consent) while they are doing the painting. But it would be a sin to pay them to paint your house knowing all the while they are going to paint those cuss words on the walls of your house. That would be paying them to cuss! When we attend the movie theatre, not only are we deliberately exposing ourselves (Phil 4:8) to filthy language (Eph 4:29) and sexual scenes (Matt 5:28), but we are directly paying the actors and directors to produce such filth (Rom 1:32). And “For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds” makes that wrong.Other things are wrong on the same basis – including renting such movies, paying to attend music concerts, buying music of the like, etc., etc.
