Reasons We Should Tell Others We Are Praying For Them

  • to show ourselves friendly – Prov 18:24a “A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly

  • to encourage them – Heb 10:25 “not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another …” (ESV)

  • to follow (I Cor 11:1) required approved examples – Col 1:9, II Tim 1:3, II Thess 1:3a, Rom 1:9b “that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers

And it should go without saying that we should be praying for others (Matt 5:44, II Thess 3:1, Heb 13:18, etc.), else how could we honestly inform them we are praying for them?
